Old Leamingtonians Ladies Rugby team suffered a 15-0 defeat from Coalville Ladies, the only team that have beaten them in the league so far, on Sunday 2 March.

They had previously beaten Coalville 3-0 in the cup match at home and lost in a previous away game.

The team were raring to go after recent matches being cancelled due to bad weather, and having maintained their reputation as "the team to beat" in the league they were keen to have a go at a worthy adversary.

With some nifty hands and well drilled moves, Coalville got their ball out to their backs within the first fifteen minutes and scored their first try, which was successfully converted. Play was then disrupted by loveable second row Milly Carter making a spectacular exit from the pitch via air ambulance after spraining her back in the scrum. The game was continued on the second ground with Captain Caroline Spence joining the pack.

Old Leamingtonians upped their game and spent over ten minutes camped in the opposition's 22, but despite a few close calls some ground gaining defense by Coalville drove them back and the opposition made and converted another try.

In the final minutes, a break from the Coalville centre saw them score one final time before the whistle and the final score was 15-0.

Milly Carter has has suffered no long term damage from her injury and left hospital in a less attention-seeking form of transport.
