Evesham Vale Running Club and Cotswold Running competed in a 24hr running event at Endure 24 across the weekend of the 13th-14th June.

Eighteen members of EVRC took part in a 24 hour endurance race. The aim of the race is simple- run as many 5 mile laps as you can in 24hours. Runners can either enter as teams, pairs or solos. The teams run in relay style passing a band from one member to the next. EVRC members formed two teams(one in the female team and one in the mixed team) and 4 solo runners.

Most of the participants had never taken in an endurance or ultra event before and although not everything went to plan for some runners most had a great weekend and surpassed what they thought possible. The team EVRC ladies placed 4th in their catorgory and solo runners Matthew Manners, Glenn Pardoe and Helen Manners achieved 85, 65 and 60 miles respectively. Between all members they ran 570 miles over the 24 hours!.
