Under 18s – Junior Colts

Banbury Colts hosted Henley Colts on Sunday and ran out winners 47 - 14.  Banbury full back Ollie Haynes opened the scoring and despite facing a strong wind, there followed tries from Hugh Saar and Dan Morris, to lead 19 - 7 at half time.

With the wind behind them in the second half Banbury, stepped up the pressure with Dan Morris scoring a fine second try, followed by tries from Ben Humphrys, Harry Graham and finally Sam Manning, with Sam converting all four tries in the second half.  Henley kept up their challenge and were rewarded with a try in the final minutes.

Tourists beat the local team with confident display

Bicester under 12's came to Banbury on Sunday morning and put on a confident and organised display of excellent rugby, leaving our boys struggling to find a response.

Banbury were using rotating teams against the visitors, but sadly none of them could find an answer to the strong running game that Bicester had come with.  Even with some excellent solo performances from Banbury's up and coming stars, the overall team play from Bicester was just too much.

Numbers pay as Banbury U11s beat Bicester

Two tries each from Josh, Ben and Callum seal victory in the third game of the day. By this time the fresher legs of Banbury have the edge but Bicester still want to play and haven’t given up despite the scores in the preceding games.

Bicester played with real rugby spirit. Their boys never gave up, never showed a moments ill grace and worked together as teams throughout. The Bicester coaches were constantly exhorting the players to have fun and were truly supportive regardless of the score.

Today Banbury were too strong for the travelling Bicester squad but our opponents should go away proud of their efforts. Well done Bicester, you are a credit to the game.
