So that's it for 2016 and what a first half to the season it has been. 88 matches played and 549 goals scored all from the 15 teams we are proud to have in our league.

Today Lodge Park took control of their game by beating Studley Swan 5-2 with two goals each from Terry Nolan and Peter Murphy helping them along. CBH Fasteners see themselves on the top of the table for Christmas 4 points clear after their victory over SO Goose Greenlands with the result 7-2. Sean Parish helped them with his hat-trick and 2 goals from Callum Davis.

Beoley Village beat SCC Redolence 3-2 with a hat-trick by Sean Meek and South Redditch beat Redditch Town 2-1 in their game.

In the Hunt Crane Cup, AFC Lions secured themselves a place in the Semi Final after beating VKL United 6-4 with two goals each by Richard Tyler and John Pearson.

In the Pat Sanders Cup, Redditch Cross had to wait until penalties to secure their move to the Quarter Final after their game against Shakespeare Studley finished 2-2 after full time. They them won 5-3 on penalties.

Austin Ex Apps continued on winning ways in the outside cups today, beating Black Horse 4-2 in the Birmingham FA Roger Wood Cup - Round 3. Black Horse were reduced to 10 men and Austin seemed to take full advantage. Well done Austin, good luck in the Quarter Finals  (24/01/16 to 07/02/16).

The league management committee would like to wish all players, club officials and match officials a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, we return on Sunday 8 January 2017.
