Saturday 10th September:  'The Big Kick-Off' 


The 2016/17 season got underway in the Ambassador Evesham Football league but unfortunately, the weather wasn't kind to us, as the rain-jackets were out in force across the region!

Under 18's Division

There were 2-games in the oldest age group but unfortunately we have no goal-scorers or match reports from any of the teams involved.

Under 16 Pool A

Evesham United Colts won 2-1 at Droitwich Spa Town, the sole Spa goal coming from Oliver Boyden.

Under 16 Pool B

Bromsgrove Meadows' Samuel Mee got his goal account underway but it wasn't enough as opponents Wychavon Lions won 5-1.

The local derby between Eckington Juniors and Pershore Warriors provided plenty of goals as Eckington held on for a narrow 4-3 win. Warriors scorers were Tom Banks, Jacob Gerber and Kian Wigley.

Goals from Harry Fletcher and Luke Sargeant weren't enough for Nunnery Wood Kestrels as they slipped to a 4-2 loss at home to Shipston Excelsior.

Under 15 Pool A

Tewkesbury Town Colts earned a point in a 2-2 draw at Bidford Juniors, goals from Tom Fendt and George Kirtland getting the all important goals.

There was another share of the points as Meadow Park drew 1-1 at home to Welford Juniors, Oliver Burdett hitting the target for the away side.

Under 15 Pool B

Unfortunately we have no goal-scorers or match reports from any of the teams involved.

Under 14 Pool A

Eckington Juniors sealed a 2-1 home win over Moreton Rangers, Sebastian Brothwood and Lewis Danter struck for the home side with Henry Smyth on target for the visitors.

Lenches FC scored two goals in the 2nd half to seal a narrow 3-2 win over Welland Junior Lions. Lucas Adcock, Callum Taylor & Samuel Vaughan scored for Lenches with William Hughes and Herbie Southam on the score charts for the Lions.

Tewkesbury Town Colts lost 3-1 at Stratford Town Colts, Joel Hughes with the lone TT goal.

Under 14 Pool B

The 'Spa Town Derby' between Droitwich Spa Vipers and Westbury Celtic Youth saw honours shared in a 2-2 draw. Jack Griffiths & Matthew Simms struck for the Vipers, Westbury's response was a brace from Evan Ward.

Shipston Excelsior will be pleased with their clean sheet and 4-0 win over Bidford Juniors, all the goals coming in the 1st half through Oscar Hair (2), Pacey Clifton & Dylan Williams. Jasper Foster in the Bidford goal produced some terrific saves to earn his sides POTM award.

It was goals galore at Welford Pumas as the home side eventually ran out 6-3 victors over Badsey Rangers. Oscar Grisenthwaite (2), William Gorski, George Modler, Harvey Way & Max Haudebourg got the home goals, the away goals came from Matthew Deakin, Aleksandrs Ozolins & Harry Powell.

Under 14 Pool C

Two goals from Kieran Sheridan gave Bretforton Juniors all 3-points at Broadway United Youth.

There was a hat-trick for Welland Junior Colts' Dominic Houlston  in a 3-1 at  Inkberrow Eagles.

Under 13 Pool A

James Barnes prowess in front of goal brought him all 5-goals in Alcester Town Juniors 5-2 victory over Stratford Town Colts Tornadoes.

Oakenshaw Lions had a convincing win over Moreton Rangers, Jack Staunton another player to bag 5-goals in a game.

Welford Juniors won 3-0 on home soil against Worcester Colts; Dan Baker, Josh Hands & Sam Morris getting their goal accounts underway.

Under 13 Pool B

Inkberrow Falcons made the short trip to Bidford Juniors and sealed maximum points in a 3-0 victory. Dylan Clarke, Hadley Jenkins & Stan Murray hit the net for the Falcons.

Droitwich Spa Kestrels sealed a home win over Inkberrow Eagles, Luke Payne getting a hat-trick.

Meadow Park lost at home to Badsey Rangers, Daniel Kennedy got the only goal for Park at Harris Brush Works.

Under 12 Pool A

The 'Shakespeare Derby' saw Ilmington United lose 3-2 at home to Stratford Town Colts. United's Alfie Organ & Moses Moussa were on the score-sheet but we have no information on the Town scorers.

Welland Junior's sealed maximum points over Alcester Town Rangers, among the scorers were Daniel Chessman, Dylan Fletcher & Charlie Pallett who each got 2-goals.

Westbury Celtic Youth travelled 'up the road' to Worcester Colts and returned home with all three points. Max Faulkner (2), Dominic Waller (2) & Joe Faulkner hitting the goals.


Under 12 Pool B

Warndon Village Kestrels won 4-2 at  Inkberrow Eagles; Goals came from Adam Hill & Ben Pons (Inkberrow) and Matthew Green ((2), Cian Scott & Charlie Barber (Warndon).

Warndon Village Lions lost 3-1 at St Johns Colts, Maxwell Chew hitting the net for the Lions.
