Saturday 15th October:  Week 6

The outside temperature may be dropping but fortunately another dry morning ensured that all our scheduled fixtures took place as planned.

Under 18's Division

Pershore Town got their 1st league win of the season as they found their scoring boots to see off Crowle Searchers Harriers by a 6-3 scoreline. Max Ferriday's 2-goals were the pick of the five Town scorers.

Welford Juniors unbeaten run came to an end as they went down 3-2 at Welland Junior FC Lions. Thomas Bromley and Zinzan Hancox grabbing goals for the away side.

Under 15 Pool A

Bidford Juniors and Shipston Excelsior had a topsy-turvy encounter with Bidford eventually running out 5-3 winners. Stephen Vaughan had the biggest impact on proceedings with two assists and two goals to his name.

Under 14 Pool A

Newtown Sports Juniors were given a big scare at home to Ilmington United but they held their nerve for a 2-1 victory to maintain their unbeaten record. Jonathan Laycock hit both goals thansk to good work from George Blannin and Jack Sampson.

Under 13 Pool A

The early season top of the table clash between Alcester Town and Pershore Town was an even affair but Alcester took all the points with the only goal of the game coming from Adam Farrow.

Oakenshaw Lions retuned from Ilmington United with maximum points; two goals from Filip Braczkowski complimented strikes from Harry Bradley and Jake Staunton.

Under 13 Pool B

Stanley Kirby hit four goals in Badsey Rangers 8-1 home victory.

Droitwich Spa Kestrels were another side to hit 8 goals; Alex King's hat-trick the pick of 5 goalscorers, with three of these coming from the substitutes bench.

Meadow Park also claimed a big home win as Connor Gates claimed a brace of goals. Interestingly, each of the home side's three substitutes got a goal each.

Under 12 Pool A

Westbury Celtic Youth claimed a 2-0 win at Alcester Town Rangers, Liam Byng and Morgan Hughes with the 'green' goals.

Under 12 Pool B

Only one place to start and that's the local derby at Warndon Village as the Kestrels hosted the Lions.  In a terrific game, the breakthrough came when a corner from Oscar Blundel found the head of substitute Oli Giles, who put the ball past the Kestrels keeper for a 1-0 win to the Lions.

Droitwich Spa Dragons drew 3-3 at home to Evesham United Colts; Finley Simpson (2) and William Colley firing the Dragons goals.

Inkberrow Eagles 2-1 home win over Winchcombe Town was secured with goals from Archie Clarke and Samuel Cund.

As we highlighted last week, with the school half-term on the horizon, any teams that wish to bring forward a match should make contact with perspective opponent's  a soon as possible. This may ease the pressure of likely postponements during Dec / Jan / Feb. If your team does re-arrange a match, then please remember to notify Dave Hyde in advance so that he can update the system.

In some age groups you will see that fixtures have already been scheduled up to Saturday 28th May, which is the last date that matches can take place for this season. With more postponements expected due to unfit pitches, this may result in many fixtures having to be scheduled for midweek, so to avoid player availability & travel issues, please make every effort to utilise any open dates you may currently have.
