Week 5 of the Ambassador Evesham Football League and there were a few shock results.

Under 18's Division

Crowle Searchers are the new leaders of the table after a 5-0 win at Droitwich Spa Youth. The away side took the lead as early as the 4th minute with a goal from Jack Dowdeswell.  Their lead was increased on 15-minutes as Iosac Nelson found space and Dowdswell got his 2nd of the game just before the break to put the Searchers in front 3-0 at half-time.  Droitwich Spa improved in the 2nd half but conceded further goals as Oluwatabi  Ipaye and Matt Mitchell put the game beyond the home sides reach.

Hot on the heels of the leaders are Wychbold Wanderers, who were looking for another home victory as they faced Pershore Town Eagles. The form book on this game was turned upside down as a shocked Wanderers found themselves 3-0 down at half-time! Whatever was said by Wychbold Manager Nolan Talbot in the HT team-talk certainly had a positive effect, as the home side brought the game back to 2-3 and then in the dying stages of the match, the Wanderers managed to find an equaliser.  A fantastic game this one and both teams should be pleased with their endeavours.

With Broadway United Youth climbing the table with a convincing 5-1 home win over Lower Teme Lions, Welford Juniors were looking to keep pace with the leaders as they travelled to Evesham United Colts. Robert Fawcett gave Welford the perfect start as he scored with just 5-minutes on the clock and Ben Harding scored his teams second just before the break.  In the 2nd half, Evesham pulled a goal back but strikes from Kyle Moss and Aleksander Forysiak sealed a 4-1 win for Welford which lifts them to joint 3rd.

Pershore Town Falcons got their 1st league win of the campaign as they narrowly defeated Bidford Juniors 4-3 at their King George 5th Stadium.

It is great to see that in the first few matches of the season, there is not much separating any of our U18 teams and there is some excellent football being played.

 Under 16's Division

Tewkesbury Town Colts lead the table with a 100% record so far but Alcester Town are pushing them all the way, as their latest win came with a 5-1 success at Pershore Town. In fact, all the other top half teams recorded victories as Inkberrow Eagles & Sheppey Swifts try to keep pace with Tewkesbury.

At Dugdale Avenue, Bidford Juniors hosted Welland Junior Colts in the early kick-off and there was little to separate the teams in the first half as both knocked the ball around with confidence but couldn't find that clinical finish. In the second half, Welland appeared to tire and with no fresh legs on the bench the home side began to create the better chances and went on to clinch a 4-0 win.

Welford Juniors travelled over to Westbury Celtic Warriors and sealed three important points in an impressive 3-0 victory. Jack Devonald (2) and Alex Akerman ere on the Welford score-sheet.

Under 15's Division

Welford Juniors are the new leaders of the table after a home win over Littleton Juniors. However there is just one point separating the top five teams, so there are sure to be plenty of twists and turns in an incredibly tight division this season.

Evesham United Colts won 3-0 at Bidford Juniors, with goals from Will McGarr (2) and Robert Rojek. This takes Will up to 16-goals so far this season and he currently leads the U15 goal-scorers chart by some way.

Under 14's Pool A

Westbury Celtic Tigers sit at the top of the table after a 2-1 win at Alcester Town, but the home side pushed them all the way. In the end, goals from Kian Bateman and Jack Ward sealed the result for the Tigers.

Under 14's Pool B

Shipston Excelsior extended their lead at the top with victory at Bromsgrove Meadows.

Under 13's Pool A

Welford Juniors trip to Welland Junior Lions was successful, as they secured a narrow 2-1 win with a brace from Oliver Burdett, to put them in pole position in the table.

Under 13's Pool B

Littleton Juniors held on for a 1-0 win at home to Archdales '73 to put them at the top of the league table after 5-games played.

Bidford put up a spirited display at home to Lenches, but the away side took control of the second half to seal a 5-0 win. However the watching West Bromwich Albion scout appeared to miss the best of the action as he left early!

 Under 12's Pool A

Ilmington United's win at Eckington Juniors puts them top of the league leader board but they are just one point ahead of Tewkesbury Town Colts, who won at Bidford Juniors.

Honours were shared as Badsey Rangers and Alcester Town Juniors played out a pulsating 1-1 draw at Ballards Park. Zac Phelan scored for Rangers in reply to Thomas Bye goal for the Town.

Under 12's Pool B

It took a sole Jake Bradley goal to seal a narrow 1-0 victory for Shipston Excelsior at Warndon Villages Dragons. This win puts Shipston 2-points clear at the top.

Moreton Rangers continue to stay in touch with the leaders as they won 4-1 at Broadway United Youth with goals from Henry Smyth (2), Jordi Colome and Harly Miller.

Under 12's Pool C

In a top of the table pairing, leaders Droitwich Spa Vipers went down 5-0 against 2nd placed Welland Junior Lions, in what was the Vipers first defeat of the season.

Bretforton Juniors got back to winning ways as they came away from Inkberrow Eagles with a 2-1 victory with goals from Ethan Rimmer and Jay Tinsley.

Under 11's Pool A

League leaders Claverdon held on for a 2-1 victory at Alcester Town Juniors. Jamie Spiers and Alex Lowe hit the net for the away side, while James Barnes got the Alcester goal.

Under 11's Pool B

Badsey Rangers and Inkberrow Eagles went goal crazy, but Rangers secured maximum points in the game.

Shipston Excelsior top the table after a 6-3 win over Welford Juniors, as Welford's Daniel Lewis hit two well struck goals.

Droitwich Spa Kestrels won 2-1 at home to Broadway United Youth with both Spa goals coming from Alexander Shaw.

Under 11's Pool C

In a top of the table MOTD, nothing could separate Evesham United Robins and Moreton Rangers as they drew 2-2, with the Evesham goals coming from Oliver Johns and Reagan Martin.

At Dugdale Avenue, Bidford Juniors Rockets Manager Amanda Griffiths will be pleased with her teams home win over Littleton, as Memphis Smith scored four of the goals.
