We wish everyone a happy New Year but 2016 has not started as we had wished, with the weather causing a huge amount of postponements.

It is turning into a 'floods of tears' season as many team have not kicked a ball in anger for 2-3 months. With many pitches absolutely saturated and a few grounds that may not recover for several weeks, the League & Cup program is getting well behind schedule, so we would encourage teams to look at alternative artificial surfaces where possible.

The benefits of 3G surfaces are on most people's minds when the weather causes so much disruption, but as you will appreciate, there are not too many artificial pitches in our area.

If any Clubs would like information on installing 3G or funding opportunities, then please contact your parent County FA.

Under 14's Division

The top of the table game between Bidford Juniors and Badsey Rangers was a tight affair, but Bidford managed to claim all three points as they triumphed 4-3 at The Big Meadow. There is no information on the Bidford scorers, but hitting the net for Badsey were  Harry Davies, Jake Edwards and Edward Waller. The result puts both teams on 24-points from 11-games, but with 11 games still to play, the title is still very much up for grabs.

Under 13's Pool A

Lenches FC climbed up to 3rd place with a 4-0 away victory at Moreton Rangers. The away side took a 3-0 lead into the break through Joe Price-Ward and two from Samuel Vaughan and a 2nd half goal from Eden McPherson sealed put the match beyond Moreton's  reach. Oliver Bannister was awarded the Lenches POTM.

Congratulations to Shipston Excelsior who claimed te ir 1st league win of the season, with a 2-0 success over Bidford Juniors. The game was extremely close, with both teams contribution to an entertaining match in difficult conditions. The deadlock was broken in the 2nd half as Shipston's attacking endeavours saw Jake Bradley and Finlay Price hit the net, but despite a late Bidford rally, the home side held firm with a morale boosting clean sheet.

Under 13's Pool C

Pershore Town Piranhas 3-1 win at Broadway United Youth moves Pershore up to 3rd place in the table. Edwin Batchelor, Mark Mason and Ben Soloman shared the Piranhas goals, with Myles Rodgers got a well deserved POTM award.

Evesham United Robins opened the new year with a well earned 2-2 draw at home to Inkberrow Eagles, both Robins goals coming from Mateusz Witalec.

Under 12's Pool B

Promotion contenders Oakenshaw Lions survived a scare at Crowle Searchers , winning by a narrow 4-3 score-line. The Searchers pushed their opponents all the way with goals from Ned Harvey (2) and Tom Bryant but the away side replied with a Harry Bradley strike and a very assured hat-trick from Danny Hunt. The POTM awards went to Owen Smith for Crowle and Patrick Rolinson for Oakenshaw.

Evesham United Robins continue to lead the table by a point after a comprehensive 6-1 win at Tewkesbury Town Colts. There was no stopping Reagan Martin who hit five of his side's goals, the other coming from substitute Benjamin Arthurs.

There is still a long way to go, but at the mid-season point it seems a three horse race in this Pool between Evesham United Robins, Oakenshaw Lions and Welford Juniors.

Latest News

The mid-season meeting of the League took place on Friday 8th January but it's very disappointing to report that 15 of our member Clubs failed to be represented at this event.  As an organisation, we make every effort to avoid the impact on Club Officials time, so this is why we only have three meetings a year that require representation from each Club. This is by far the worst attendance we have seen in recent times and does nothing to assist to hard work of League Officials. We hope our membership will take notice of our concerns and ensure that those who failed to attend will make a greater effort to support league events in the future. The following Clubs failed to attend:

Blakedown Colts, Campden Town, Central Ajax, Claverden, Cookley Sports, Cradley Sports, Ilmington United, Lenches, Malvern Town, Meadow Park, Moreton Rangers, Newton Sports, Sheppey Swifts, Stratford Town and Wychbold Juniors.
