Banbury Under 16s beat Matson from near Gloucester by 20 points to nil on Sunday.

Unbeaten since September, Matson were always expected to be tough opposition and the ensuing battle of the forwards (pictured) was one of the highlights of the season so far. Playing with the wind, Banbury opened the scoring as Caleb Shepherd went over in the corner. Jake Anderson (Captain) made it 10 for Banbury in the first half, everyone hoping that this was enough. If anything Banbury stepped up a gear in the second half and Matson failed to use the wind to their advantage. Toby Chapman drove to within 5 metres of the Matson line, Jacob Turner grateful to receive the pass and score. Jack Briggs rounded off a near perfect Banbury performance as he scored the hosts fourth try. The wind prevented any try conversions and the match ended 20-0 to Banbury.
