The remaining two matches of our U16's League produced plenty of goals and excitement as the Champions & Runners-up were decided in a tense finale to the season:

Under 16's

With everything still to play for, the match of the day was surely the Badsey Rangers v Pershore Town fixture at Ballards Park. Could Pershore Town address the balance following their defeat to Badsey in the Cup Final only two weeks earlier, or would Badsey be able to secure the victory to claim a monumental double? In a match up of two very stubborn defences, nobody could have envisaged that this game would produce a 10-goal thriller.

In a very even first half, as fast as one team scored, the response was almost instant, but the 2nd half saw Badsey Rangers the more clinical of the two teams in front of goal.  The final score of 7-3 to Badsey, probably doesn't reflect how close a contest this was, with both teams contributing to an excellent match. Amongst the Badsey goal-scorers  were Tyler Lupton & Thomas Daniels, who both scored two each, with Tyler finishing the season on a very impressive 19 goals.

Congratulations to Badsey Rangers on achieving the League & Cup double for 2013/14.

At Stratford Sports Club, Alveston hosted their local derby with Ilmington United, knowing that victory would at seal the Runner-Up position.  In a frenetic contest, Alveston's  attacking  strength won the day as they claimed a 6-1 victory.

Congratulations to Alveston on another successful season.

Under 13's Pool A

In the Wednesday fixture, their was a major surprise at Eckington Juniors as the home side went down 4-2 to Littleton Juniors, who recorded their 2nd win of the season.

Moving on to the Thursday fixture and the Alcester Town Juniors v Central Ajax had to be abandoned due to a serious injury to a Central Ajax player, who suffered a suspected broken leg. Our thoughts are with the player and the League wish him a full & speedy recovery.
