The Bretforton Ladies 1st XI may well be relegated this season but they refuse to go down without a fight !

They showed some real grit and determination after a long journey to Dorset and were unlucky not to come away with all three points.

The girls in pink put their Swanage counterparts under pressure from the whistle and were unfortunate not to convert a number of short corners – Swanage, however, were in the same boat & couldn’t convert the chances that they created either !

Stalwart performances throughout the team this weekend and none more so than the mature Deb Slatter – the player of the match plaudits deservedly going to her.

More highlights were to be had when Swanage produced the amazing, disappearing teas – a brilliant trick that must be remembered !

The ladies still have two more games to go this week – a really tough game ensues at the DeMontford High School on Wednesday evening – it’s an 8pm start against high flying Swindon who need to win the game to keep the pressure on Bath Buccs going into the final games this weekend.  Then the final game is on Saturday – a 10:30am start against fellow strugglers Marlborough – should be an interesting game !

Player of the match: Deb Slatter

Plonker of the match:  Sophie “Skidder” Hamilton
