North Midlands Under-16s continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 32-19 win over Warwickshire in the opening Super Sunday event at Bromsgrove RFC today.

North Midlands, who trounced Staffordshire in their opening match last month, recovered from an uncertain start to run in six tries in a confident performance.

Centres Will Butler (Hereford Cathedral School, Ledbury RFC and Herefordshire) and Will Hollis (Kin’s School Worcester, Worcester RFC and Worcestershire), wing Harry Robinson (The Chase School, Worcester RFC and Worcestershire), flanker Zac Xiourouppa (Ellesmere College, Shrewsbury RFC and Shropshire), lock Joe Charles (Church Stretton School, Shrewsbury RFC and Shropshire) and replacement Alex Gordon (Edgecliff School, Worcester RFC and Black Country) scored the North Midlands tries.

Full-back Jacob Ham (King’s School Worester, Worcester RFC and Worcestershire) added the only conversion in difficult windy conditions which helped North Midlands into a commanding 22-7 lead by half-time.

North Midlands complete their county programme against Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire in the second Super Sunday event at Leicester GS on November 17.
