It was a good weekend for Southam United, with both senior teams scoring six in impressive victories.

The first team were in cup action for the third week in a row, beating Littleton 6-3 in a thrilling Les James Memorial Challenge Cup tie at Banbury Road.

Kyonn Evans (2) and Jamie Insall were on the scoresheet for Littleton, but a hat-trick from Simeon Smith and a fourth from Brad Rees gave Saints a 4-3 lead at the interval.

Tom Muldoon crossed for Simon Hicks to head in the fifth for Saints in the 54th minute and Richard Tomkins, under pressure from Smith, put into his own net with two minutes to go to complete the scoring.

Meanwhile, in the Stratford Football Alliance first division, the reserves completed a double over Moreton Rangers to keep tabs on leaders Badsey United.

After a bright start, Saints took the lead in the 9th minute when Emmanuel Atugo was brought down in the area and Joe Williams scored from the spot. Moreton equalised with their first shot on target in the 20th but, despite more Saints pressure, the match remained all square at the break.

Steve Thomas restored the lead within two minutes of the restart, with a stunning shot from the left-hand side of the box. Saints went further ahead in the 52nd when Moreton cleared a corner, only for the ball to come to Niall Thoms who volleyed back in for Williams to head home.

A good passing move ended with Suki Nijjar setting up Thomas for his second and, with Saints having a good final fifteen minutes, Nijjar sealed the win, beating the full back and, with the keeper expecting a cross, came inside to unleash a shot into the corner to make it 6-1.
