Droitwich were edged out in a tight affair on Saturday played in atrocious weather conditions.

The visitors had the elements in the first period and attached the Droitwich line, but excellent tackling by forwards James Thomas and Alex Saddington kept them at bay before some poor organisation in midfield allowed Stourbridge to score a try.

The rest of the first half was a scrappy affair with both sides struggling to cope with the vicious driving rain.

The second period saw Droitwich up their game with Seam Walker kicking well to gain territory, earning a penalty which Tom Wormington duly converted.

Rob Poke was his normal industrious self driving the Spa side forward, linking with Russ Brown to create a scoring opportunity, but the young side couldn't quite string the final passes together to find the score.

Another defeat for Droitwich although they did claim a bonus point which may prove vital in their quest to avoid relegation.
