Droitwich turned in one of their best displays of the season so far to beat Nuneaton Old Eds by 25-10. Spa looked more confident and looked to play with a proper game plan for the first time this season. Nuneaton however started the better and were soon 3 points up after a simple penalty kick in front of the posts. Straight from the restart Nuneaton attacled again and after a good show and go the visitors centre scored under the posts to go 10 points up.

This kicked the spa side into gear and after a good turnover by Russell Brown spa were awarded a penalty which Scott-Walker added. Spa gain attacked with confidence and aggression typified by a good strong run from Joseph Roberts, spa were again awarded a penalty from far out which Scott-Walker again seized on the opportunity to add another three points.
Spa were now on the ascendance and were awarded another three penalties in the first half which Scott- Walker added with no trouble from very far out. Spa were 15-10 up at the end of the first half.
The second half started with Nuneaton using the wind to kick deep into the Spa corner but good cohesion from James Thomas at the line outs saw Spa clear their lines well. Samuel davenport continued the Spa dominance with typically good runs into the visitors half and with good support from the very impressive Ed Worthington, this set up a good platform for the Spa forwards and after good phase play by them, James Shewell produced some samba like footwork to go past a few defenders to feed Christopher Danks in support to score under the posts. This gave Droitwich a valuabale lead of 12 points.
Spa were now under pressure again but good defence from the spa side was vital to keeping the lead, some great last ditch tackles from Benjamin Rean and Stephen Poke typified the desire in this spa side to defend the lead. After a penalty was awarded to spa, a quick tap from Scott-Walker who beat two players and passed to William Baillon who was illegally tackled ten metres into the visitors half. Spa opted for the posts and a remarkable kick by Scott-Walker against the wind sailed through the posts to put the spa side 15 points ahead of nuneaton and to cement the much needed victory for the home side. Scott-Walker finished the game with 20 points in which was a faultless kicking display. After the match hooker Joseph Roberts added that he was delighted with the confidence boosting win and hopefully spa can take this winning mentality into the next game.
