 Drop Kicks Challenge for Candlelighters children’s cancer charity

 Kenilworth Rugby Club

27th December 2016 at 1pm

Followed by Kenilworth Barbarians vs Warwick School Old Boys 2pm KO

Hi, my name is Ella Rigg and 3 years ago I was diagnosed with cancer, stage 4 neuroblastoma. I'd just celebrated my 7th birthday in November 2013 and started suffering with tummy aches and didn’t wantto eat or go to school. I went to the doctors and the hospital and eventually, after lots of tests, a grapefruit sized tumour was found in my tummy. I went through 18 months of horrible treatment, including chemotherapy, a 10 hour operation, stem cell transplant, radiotherapy and immunotherapy and thankfully in May last year the doctors told me I was in remission.

Many charities, primarily Candlelighters, helped me and my family along this unplanned journey and to say thank you I've spent all this year doing various challenges to raise money. I've done an abseil down a castle wall, hula hooping, an all day sponsored silence at school and a 6 hour cycling challenge. I've also challenged other people too;

I've challenged my cousins Noah and Louis Smithson to do 100 drop kicks in half an hour. They love rugby and both play in their school rugby teams and for Kenilworth Rugby Club so they jumped at the chance to do this. Kenilworth Rugby Club have very kindly agreed to support the challenge which will be taking place at 1pm on the 27th Dec 2016. We hope you can come along to watch and support us on the day. If you can’t make it we would be really grateful if you could pop a few pennies in our collection bucket or donate via the sponsor sheets which will both be at the rugby club from the 18th of Dec (The Christmas party) until the 27th of December.
