WEEKLY ROUND UP.

The only game in this week’s Premier Division between Millfield Rovers and South Redditch was an eight goal bank holiday bonanza.

Jamie Wright opened the scoring for South Redditch on 11 mins, reacting first to a loose ball in the penalty area. Wright scored his second on 52 minutes thumping home a cross as Millfield Rovers looked a beaten side. However a substitution and positional reorganisation paid dividends as Neil Dews popped up down the left hand side to shoot home on 57 mins followed by two further goals in the next 6 minutes, the home side had turned the game on its head to lead 3-2. A minute later South Redditch responded as Jamie Wright completed his hat trick and when Ashley Parker was given time to chest the ball down, turn and strike to put the visitors back in the lead on 72 mins, the game appeared to be won. However a penalty four minutes from time left the points shared.

In Division One, it would appear that the some defences had gone away for the Bank holiday weekend as it was raining goals. Red Lion roared to the top of the Division, with a 16-0 victory, Dan Bearcroft, Mitch Sutor and Dan Nurthen were left sharing the hat trick match ball.  Jake Booton and Josh Larner also feasted at the goal scoring table as Coldfield also hit double figures at AFC Lions, whilst Courtney Lloyd scored three as Redolence Park saw off Redditch Cross 6-2. Andrew Squibb was also in the goals as Winyates Wanderers beat Studley Railway 4-1 in the BSA Cup.

This coming Sunday sees five ties in the BRT Terry Cup, with three Premier Division sides facing the potential banana skin of lower Division opposition.
