Rowington 155-2 (36,2 overs)  beat Leamington III 154-6 (40 overs) by 8 wickets

Whilst all the poor players of the world did gather on the stage that was for that day Stratford-upon-Avon, the good players of Leamington and Rowington did assemble upon the Green at Rowington to desport themselves at cricket.  In recent days the heavens hath made the grass soft and green making the accumulation of runs and wickets a great labour. Some skilful play by Mr Mackrill (34) and Mr Williams (34) added to Leamington’s score before some lusty blows by Mr Mohammed (49*) saw the visitors complete their allotted span at 154-6.  Mr Jay (8-3-9-1) and Mr Clarke (6-3-10-2) were most parsimonious in their bowling.  The bowlers of Leamington had little response as the batsmen of Rowington made steady pace to meet the challenge, led by Mr Rogers (44) and Mr Kelly(58*).  Gentlemen of Leamington, away elsewhere, will have little to dread when any speaks who was with us this day.

With appropriate acknowledgement of Mr W Shakespeare, a Bard of Stratford, but not a member of Stratford Bards CC.
