Evesham 2s 51 Alcester 2s 7
Evesham 2s carried on the excellent start to the season with a comprehensive 51-7 victory against local rivals Alcester. From the first whistle, Eveshams intent was to let the ball do the work and it was early on that they scored the 1st of 9 tries.
The forwards were producing an ample supply of ball and the home side backs were enjoying the freedom of the open paddock. With a fine blend of experience and youthful passion, Evesham were never in trouble but to Alcesters credit they didnt stop playing and were rewarded with try from 5 yards out.
The whole of the Evesham side can be proud of a job well done, but mention should go to young wing Scott Roberts who capped a fine performance with a hat-trick. Evesham's other scorers were Andy Dagnell, Ed Baldwin, Tom Wynne, the evergreen Paul Turpitt and full back Rick Taylor with 2 tries.
Taylor converted 3 tries. Evesham are at home next Saturday when they welcome the highly fancied Dudley Kingswinford.
