Distracted with their new spanking hoodies, the second eleven started off a little disorientated but soon found their feet with Lucy Cole piling on the pressure against Bourton & Sherbourne’s defence.

After being awarded a short corner Alice Cook shot on goal narrowly missing the post.  Play continued through the 1st half as Bret dominated the play leaving Bourton & Sherbourne begging for the ball.  After countless hits on goal by J. Hyde the end of the half meant a 0-0 half time score.

The 2nd half of the game started a lot stranger for the seconds as they settled into play.  A break made by Lisa Davis up the line and injected into the attacking D to Gilly Wright resulted in a stunning 1st goal of the match, soon followed by another short corner against the opposition where Wright, hungry for another goal, played tennis with the goalie eventually slipping it down the side of the goal bringing the score to 2-0 for Bret.

In the remaining few seconds of the match goal keeper Izzy took a sliding tackle to save a shot on goal resulting in a penalty flick.  Both teams waited anxiously on the half way line for the Bourton & Sherbourne attacker to take the shot on goal.  A low hit off the goal keeper’s left leg and off the pitch resulted in a 2-0 win for 2nd ladies keeping them in fighting position for top spot of the league and their goalie receiving most votes for player and plonker of the match, a Bret history 1st.
