Another rain predicted day was nowhere to be seen as Rowington took on fourth placed Ebrington and with the pitch looking good and no faith in the weathermen skipper Scott Rogers elected to bat.

Matt Page and Alex Smith added 28 before Cullen got Smith (8) to pad one to the keeper and he was adjudged out!

Tom Jefferson moved up the order but only managed a single before a lightening LBW to Mr Stroppy Gregory, Dale Glover helped Matt Page move the score to 131 before he got bowled for 43 by a revved up Clarkson.

Scott Rogers joined Page who had passed his 50 and they moved the score past the 200 to 204 when Rogers was caught off the calmer other Gregory (P) for 34.

Page then moved on to his second ton this year  and aided by Sam Turrell they moved the R's to 218 - 4 off their 45 overs.

Page 107no and Turrell 9no.

A decent target for the Yubbies to chase.

Gregory N - 1-35

Cullen - 1-29

Clarkson - 1-56

Gregory P - 1-54.

In reply opener Steve Jay soon took one for the team as Chambers hammered the ball back into his knee! after a short roll around and walk Jay got up and took out Makin (4) with his next ball and its 10-1.

In comes Mr Angry Gregory and he starts to punish any short ball, unfortunately there were quite a few, then Jay bowls to him and he pulls the ball striaght to Clive Haywood......Alas he drops it Gregory is barely out of single figures!

So he takes advantage and he sees the score to 110 before a bowling change sees Dale Glover get Chambers(38) caught by Alex Smith.

Jay finishes his spell of 10 overs but Clarkson has roared in to join Gregory and they push on taking advantage of some poor bowling and moving easily towards their target, with 10 overs to go Gregory hits the winning four and the Yubbies have strolled past the R's score.

Gregory a fine batting performance of 138no marred by his poor attitude in the field, Clarkson 34no.

Jay      10        0          22        1

Turrell  9         0          61        0

Shaw    5         0          38        0

Glover  7          1          48        1

Clarke  4          0          21        0

Ostler  3          0          27        0

One man and one catch changed the game, Gregory came off and batted well, but it could have been so different.

Catches win matches!

The final game of the season sees the R's travel to Woodbourne and with a 21 point lead at the top will need 5 points to guarantee the championship.

A big party at the club after the game where all are invited.
