The Heartlanders will be disappointed that they let their lead slip late on for the second week in a row, but in truth The Rouslers deserved to get something out of the game as a result of their efforts in the second half.

Overall there was little between the two sides battling it out in the higher reaches of the table but as with Bolehall last week Griff have taken four points off their rivals.

The rain had eased off at the start and the pitch was in remarkable good condition as the home side started well in front of another large crowd, Ryan Millerchip had an early opening but dragged his shot wide of the far post and then Josh Ruff headed over the bar when well placed.

The game evened out and on eighteen minutes Bromsgrove took the lead following a smart move up the right flank, Griff appeared to have cleared the danger but as the cross went in but the ball fell nicely toLewis Clarke who clipped it home.

Sporting had the lead for three minutes as Griff hit back immediately, a nice ball into the box found Danny Gaunt on the right of the area and his chip into the danger area was met by the head of Alex Naughton who made no mistake.

The game settled into a midfield battle with defences on top, Stevie Barrett went closest with a great effort that skimmed past the far post but chances were few and far between. All that changed on thirty five minutes when Mitchell Thomson jinked into the area and was brought down, Alex Naughton sent Jake Bedford the wrong way with the spot kick for his twenty ninth goal of the season.

Things could have got better for the home side towards the interval as they upped the pressure and Millerchip headed over the angle from a corner and then Naughton failed to get a finish as the ball fell nicely from a free-kick.

After the interval the game swung from end to end with a Naughton thunderbolt blocked away and at the other end Danny Ludlow lashed over on the break. A Barrett flick almost caught Sporting out but just went wide.

Sporting were looking better now as they broke quickly and Ludlow found some space again but Dave Watson saved comfortably, the same striker then lashed wildly over after some Bromsgrove pressure.

A quick break saw Naughton racing through to flick the ball over goalkeeper Bedford but Craig Jones got back to hack the ball away. A Naughton corner was then glanced wide by Millerchip but Bromsgrove were hitting strongly on the break and a one goal lead never seemed enough.

Sam Wilkinson flashed a shot over as the visitors put in some good effort and finally they got their reward on eighty three minutes when the same Wilkinson received wide left and suddenly sent in a swerving shot which Watson appeared to get a touch to, the ball cannoned off the near angle and fell nicely for Matt Poyner to clip home.

The game faded to a conclusion after that with both sides seemingly content with the draw.
