Week 2 of the new 2015/16 Season saw a full set of fixtures throughout the age groups.

U18's Division

Cookley playing there first home game of the season and started very slowly. Welford applied the pressure and were on top for the first 20 minutes they showed some very good touches and were winning the ball in the middle of the park. The Welford midfield had plenty of the ball in the first quarter and were able to pick the ball up and run at Cookley on many occasions. It was from a clearance that Cookley broke down the left hand channel and the ball played into Cookley Player and volleyed it into the top corner. Cookley certainly felt that they were fortunate to be 1-0 up.
Cookley still trying to re-group from a poor start and with Welford still running through the middle of the park, the away side found an equaliser when they managed to brake away with the Welford's Rober Fawcett running past the midfield and defence of Cookley (great skill from the Welford player) to slot the ball home into the bottom corner. A well deserved goal.

Finally Cookley started to pass the ball around, but the first half was even on the balance of play with very few opportunities.
The start of the 2nd half saw some tactical changes from both sides. Cookley started to pass the ball around more and Welford began to struggle. The Welford Manager made further changes to try and contain Cookley from applying pressure but it wasn't too long before the deadlock was broken with the ball bouncing around the 6 yard box of Welford and a Cookley player managed to get something on it, the keeper got a hand to it but finally nestled into the net. The goal lifted the Cookley midfield but Welford continued to show spirit and determination. With 20 minutes to go and 2-1 down Welford made some changes to try and get the equaliser but Cookley made 3 changes od their own and on the face of it an inspired substitution as within a few minutes Cookley increased their lead. At 3-1 up the home side had control of the game and with 10 minutes remaining Welford made some more changes to try and get something out of the game, but with the game stretched, Cookley countered and increased their lead with two further goals. On reflection the score-line didn't do Welford any justice, they were great in the first half and as the season goes on they are sure to get some points.

Pershore Town suffered a heavy home defeat to Drakes Broughton Rangers, with Lewis Payne getting a consolation goal for Town.
