This weekend at Arden Sailing Club, Defford saw the annual Wardle Trophy usually held in May, but postponed due to gale force winds.  The Wardle Trophy is an interclub event held between each of the local sailing clubs being hosted at a different location every year.  The 2 day series consists of 5 races with 3 to count for the overall result.  On Saturday 2 pursuit races were held in 6mph winds with 5 home sailors and 2 away sailors.  the racing was very close with each side wining a race each.  On Sunday 3 pursuit races were run.  The first race was postponed for an hour to give the fog chance to lift and a bit of wind to come in.  Eventually we got under way in a very light 4mph wind.  Now the home side had 8 boats sailing and 2 for the away side.  The racing was very close all day, but it was Shaun Curtis in a Phantom who won the series and Emma Williams in a Laser who won the 'Lady Helm Trophy'
