KEITH Kent, the RFU Head Groundsman at Twickenham, ran a successful workshop for club groundsmen in Warwickshire, Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire, East Midlands and Leicestershire.

The workshop, which was attended by around 40 groundsmen from across the four RFU Constituent Bodies was held at Nuneaton OE’s Weddington Road ground.

The workshop, which was organised by the Warwickshire RU Facilities Group, included indoor and outdoor practical sessions on pitch care and maintenance and ended with a question-and-answer session.

The Nuneaton session was one of around 100 visits made by Keith Kent each year to community rugby clubs across England to provide advice and guidance on the maintenance of their natural turf pitches.

Kent is regarded as one of the leading sports groundsmen in the country, having spent 15 years as head groundsman at Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium and the past 12 in charge of the turf at rugby HQ.

Kent’s expertise and advice are much sought-after and his regular pitchcare workshops at rugby clubs across the country are hugely popular.
