Kenilworth Ladies travelled to Dudley Kingswinford to play the well drilled side and came out on top despite strong winds.

Kenilworth kicked off and in the first few minutes, it was clear that DK wanted this. The DK No 10 kicked into the Kens 22, full back Helena Allison-Moore, caught the ball and stormed her way through several tackles running all the way to score in the corner, a try converted by newly recruited fly half Victoria Kerr. Score 0-7It’s only the first ten minutes and Kenilworth are very much dominating this, DK take the ball into the breakdown on their 5 meter line. Kens steal and get it out to Kerr, lock Ada Ajoku is lurking round the corner and takes a short pop off Kerr, Ajoku drives hard to cross the line but no conversion this time(0-12)

Excellent rucking from the forwards saw clean ball get out to the backs nearly every time and cast iron self-belief and drive saw brand new winger Rachel Browne, take the ball at every opportunity and her determination saw her go over the line to score a try and another conversion by Kerr brought the score to 0-19

Kens have got the wind on their side in this half, and they are certainly using it to their advantage. Flanker turned inside centre Allison Condell ran straight through tackles a number of times, but every time ensured that the ball was secure in the contact area, the ball had gone out to the backs and Charlotte Acklam charged down the park but fell short near the line. Condell saw a gap and she took the ball to score under the post. Condell soon responded shortly after with a second try of her own, both tries converted by fancy boots Kerr. Score 0-33.

Only 5 minutes left in this half and DK are making every single tackle. DK have upped the intensity and Kens are having to step up to the mark, a lucky break from Allison-Moore sees her go over just before the whistle goes, taking the Half time score to 0-38.

This was a real game of two halfs, the away side found themselves under a lot of pressure and were unable to cross the line again. The DK pack seem stronger and scrummaging became harder, Kens are also giving away too many penalties due to silly mistakes. However, the ladies keep displaying heroic defensive lines, tirelessly running up to make brilliant tackles yet holding the line and shutting down every attempt that the home team had. Despite this, DK finally make their way over the line to take the final score to 38-5 about 20 minutes into the half. Kens realise that it is increasingly difficult to go over the line again so are determined to keep that defensive line stronger than ever. DK are also unable to go over again, bringing the final score after a hard fought game to 38-5. Players of the match were lock Sarah Penny and outside center Annie Pritchard
