Rowington made the short journey over to Kenilworth and upon arrival were promptly asked to bat, on a damp track and with more showers forecast it was the obvious decision by Pidgeon, the K's captain.
Scott Rogers and Alex Smith opened the batting and Rogers soon found his footing, smashing  Rex for 15 in his third over , with Casey not fairing much better, the R's moved onto 40 when Smith (11) went for another boundary and edged it to the flying Pidgeon at slip who took a great one-handed catch.
Joe Turrell joined Rogers but with the score on 48 Turrell mis-judged the slower delivery from Casey and he's gone for 4.
Skipper Sam Turrell comes in and patience is the name of the game but Turrell then tries to launch Pidgeon out of the ground and gets bowled for 15, 70-3, but Rogers is still there.s
Will Bird struts in and adds a quickfire 18 and takes Rowington towards the 100 when rain sets in and a 20 minute break is needed, Bird then hits a full toss from Challis-Brown stright to the fielder and he's gone, 97-4.
Ollie Evans joins Rogers and they decide to play out the dangerous Pidgeon and move to 100 when it rains again but this time its constant and after taking an early tea the captains deem the pitch too wet to carry on.
Rogers 42 NO and Evans 1 NO.
Rex                 1-25
Casey             1-22
Pidgeon          1-24
Challis-Brown 1-25
The second week running that Rowington have had a rain affected game and with a good score looking like being set this game see's the R's losing points and ground to the teams above them who all played both weeks, Kenilworth got off lightly for the second season running.
Winchcombe next week, lets pray for sunshine!!
