Kings travelled to Evesham who were without a victory and fell victim to complacency as the hosts scored their first converted try after just 23 seconds.

The shell shocked guests from Hopwood responded well and pressurized Eve’s line for some 10 minutes but were unable to convert the hard work into points. Finally the hosts cleared their lines, piled the pressure back on & when Kings were caught offside in a ruck winning an easy penalty. 10 pts – nil

After 22 mins of defending against a rampant Evesham, Kings conceded another converted try. The game continued in the same vein for the remainder of the half with Evesham gaining confidence & scoring a further converted try.

Half time Evesham 24 pts – Kings Norton nil

Despite stern words from the visitor’s coaches, they were unable to inspire their team to better things and Evesham went further ahead after 4mins with an unconverted try and a 4 try bonus point.

A glimmer of hope and what they were capable of came as Kings immediately counter attacked and Scott Wood scored well under the posts with Ben Manners adding the extras.  This was to be the final threat from Kings who had collected some injuries along the away and capitulated to a confident home side, poor decision-making, lack of tackles and kicking from hand all contributing to them conceding a simple & final try under their posts which was converted.

The final 25 mins saw the game degenerate and despite  Evesham going down to 13 men with 2 players in the sin bin the visitors were incapable of taking any advantage.

Injury hit Kings are likely to struggle for a victory on Saturday when they visit Midlands 3 West (North) Burntwood in the RFU Senior Vase.
