Kings suffered their largest defeat of the season to a well organized Old Wheatleyans whose latest victory took them into joint 2nd place in the league.

In essence the home side fielded a scratch side who gave their all in what became a one sided match. Kings Norton fell behind after 5mins to a score in the corner but hit back after 17 mins with a good converted try after Ben Boyce made good ground to provide the backs to feed Ben Manners who scored and converted his own try and gain a short live lead. Kings pack worked hard and defended well but Kings defense was opened up 3 more times by their visitor’s attacks scoring breakaway tries & ending the half at Kings Norton 7 pts. Old Wheats 20 pts.

After the break Old Wheat’s soon scored 2 converted tries through their fast backs before out of retirement Kings fly half Louis Stelling threw a long pass out to Manners who finished well and converted his 2nd effort. Kings played valiantly but were no match for their strong running opposition who scored 4 more tries ( 2 converted) before the home side gained one more Manners score to gain his first hat trick for the club following good work by the forwards, after Kris Fen’s drive had been halted the ball was fed swiftly out for the centre to score out wide but then narrowly miss the conversion attempt.
