A mixed bowling performance left the batsmen a formidable task when Leamington III entertained a strong Wellesbourne side at Arlington Avenue.

The visitor’s well organised batting line up punished some wayward Leamington bowling to accumulate a 45 over total of 271 – 6.  Gadden (37), Edden (54) and J Maynard (56) lead the way.  James  Cowan (74) launched the reply and in a second wicket stand of 106 with Wayne Killian ((68) created the foundation for a successful run chase.

After Cowan was dismissed in the 23rd. over, with the score at 144, Manpreet Gill (52) joined Killian in maintain the progress.  Set a target of 6 runs per over, they steadily maintained the necessary pace and when Killian was dismissed in 38th over the score was 234.

From there the rate quickened and Leamington reached their target of 272 with seven balls and six wickets to spare in a tense finish to a hard-fought match.
