Considering all the recent rain Littleton's pitch was in good condition and passed a morning inspection, for the visit of Lichfield City. In a very entertaining game Littleton ran out 3 - 0 victors.

Littleton took the lead in the first minute.  The dynamic JAMIE CLARKE burst down the left leaving defenders in his wake.  He cut in and from the bye-line laid on a pass to CALLUM CLARKE who converted from close range.  Ten minutes later again his pace took him clear, his first shot was saved by the keeper and the rebound hit a player on the line and was cleared.

However Lichfield were not idle, and it need a full length save from HAYDEN WHITCOMBE to keep them out.  This was quickly followed by MATT MITCHELL clearing off the line followingly a header from a corner.

The second half started in a similar manner to the first and again it was JAMIE CLARKE who was at the centre.  A quick turn took him clear, but his effort was beaten away by the keeper.  However he was not to be denied and scored soon after from an acute angle to make 2 - 0.

The focus swung to the other end as the visitors piled forward in an effort to get back into the game.  They found MATT MITCHELL in the heart of the home defence in fine form supported by STEVE EDGEHILL, ADAM GUEST and GLEN SITCH with keeper WHITCOMBE safe in his handling behind. As often happens, a breakaway goal from the hosts in extra time sealed the victory again CLARKE was the provider, cutting in from the left, lobbing the ball to KEVIN INGRAM to nod in and make it 3 - 0.

Littleton do not have a game on Saturday.  The following week the are home to Feckenham in the Smedley Crook Cup.
