OL’s slipped to another losing bonus point defeat in a game that they dominated for the majority of the game but failed again to convert pressure into points.

The game kicked off with OL’s defending against a strong sun and equally strong wind yet took the game to the home side and dominated play for the first 15 minutes keeping Old Ed’s on defence yet conceding a try from an interception when the match official, having given OL’s two penalties in quick succession without any advantage being gained allowed the interception to take place and provide the home side with a seven point lead from the first attack they had made into the OL’s 22.

OL’s continued to dominate the game and repeatedly attacked the home goal line without any success and just before half time the home side increased the lead with a try wide out, again against the run of play to give them a 12 point half time lead.

OL’s totally dominated the second half but only had a Ceiran Price try to show for it despite the OL’s forwards repeatedly driving towards the home goal line but too often losing the ball in the mauls or when the ball was passed down the threequarters at critical times when tries looked on the cards.

This was yet another losing bonus point game putting OL’s in a vulnerable league position and makes converting possession and domination in games into points a priority if the league status is to be maintained.

Next week sees the visit of bottom club Old Coventrians to the Crofts in a game that OL’s must win.  Kick off 2.15pm.
