After a heavy defeat by Wolverhampton two weeks ago Sutton’s Women hoped to show improvement away at Bourneville today and they didn’t disappoint!

The game took the format of tens played over three thirds of 20mins, Bourneville who only formed in April were assisted by Wolverhampton in terms of numbers adding experience to the team.

An impressive weaving run by scrum-half Sammi Allwood got Sutton off the mark converted by fullback Emily Jenkinson, returning to the team after a long-term shoulder injury.

Suttons forwards featured heavily on the score card, Jessica Nally returned to the side with a strong carry through Bournevilles defence. Forwards Nicole Walsh and Olivia Dunn both demonstrated great speed breaking through tackles to score their debut tries for Sutton. Previous man of match Athena Jai added two tries to the tally along with centre Julia Gray.

There was some impressive defensive work by Sutton headed up by debutants Natalie Mclaughlan and Bethan Harris both putting in some fantastic tackles.
