Match Reports 28/9/13

Match week 4 took place on Saturday 28th September and there was plenty of excitement across all of the age groups.


Under 18's

Inkberrow maintained their 100% record with a comfortable 5-0 home win over Pershore Town.

Harvington also remain unbeaten, their latest victory being a 4-2 victory at home to Bidford, in a pulsating all action match. Two goals from Bidford's  Jason Batts wasn't enough in match which saw two penalties (one of which had to retaken due to encroachment) and three cautions!

Evesham United Colts kept their 3rd clean-sheet on the bounce with a disciplined 4-0 win at home to Welford, to move into 3rd place. Broadway kept their first clean-sheet as they enjoyed their trip over to Redditch, coming away with a 7-0 victory at Morton Stanley Rangers.

Next week Bidford host Inkberrow, in what should be another high-tempo encounter.


Under 16's

The mid-table battle between Pershore Town & Broadway, saw the hosts edge a tight game 2-1.

League Leaders Alveston travelled away to bottom side, Ilmington and they certainly know where the back of the net is, with Elliot Whittle scoring 5 of the away sides goals in an 11-2 win.

Crowle also bagged 11 goals without reply, against Tewkesbury Town, while Badsey eased in 8-1 over Lower Teme Lions.

Bidford stay joint top after a 1-0 away win at Droitwich, in a game full of action and endeavour.


Under 15's A

High flying Inkberrow survived a tight affair with struggling Evesham Juniors with a 4-3 win. Joint leader's Evesham Panthers also had a few scares at mid-table Droitwich, but 3-points were secured in a goal-fest of a game which saw a final score of 5-6.

Broadway got their first point on the board with a 1-1 draw at home to Shipston while Alcester triumphed over Drakes Broughton 6-0.


Under 15's B

Game of the day was surely at Welland, as the top of the table clash with Sheppey Swifts saw a 4-4 draw,  three penalties and two cautions, one of which was produced to a player after the final whistle. Both Welland & Sheppey remain unbeaten, along with Crowle & Pershore Town.

Crowle showed their home superiority with a 6-1 score-line over Westbury Celtic,  while Pershore Town's match went just went ahead, despite severe concern over the pitch markings (or lack of them) as they scrapped in 2-1 over bottom side, Ilmington.


Under 14's A

Evesham Juniors edged ahead of the early season title contenders with a dramatic 2-1 away win at Welland Juniors. Drakes Broughton Rangers stayed in contention with a 7-1 win over Bidford Pioneers.  Lenches are still searching for their first point, their latest defeat being a 7-0 loss away at Bidford Juniors.  The surprising result in this Pool, was Sheppey Swifts 4-0 away win at Tewkesbury Town.


Under 14's B

Welford Juniors opened up a four point gap at the of the Pool with a 7-0 win over Crowle.  Malvern Town Wanderers stay second after a comfortable victory over Littleton.


Under 13's A

MOTD in this Pool was over at Ajax Park, where the hosts, Central Ajax were edged out 2-1 by the in-form Alcester Town Juniors.


Under 13's B

Westbury Celtic Tigers & Droitwich Tigers remain joint top, after they both recorded comfortable wins, over Broadway United Youth & Alcester Town Rangers, respectfully.


Under 13's C

Pershore Town Warriors stay 1-point ahead of the chasing pack after an extremely hard fought 2-1 home win over Droitwich Pumas.


Under 12's A

Badsey Rangers went to the top of the table with an excellent 2-0 win away at Alcester Town. Shipston Excelsior stay hot on their heels after a fine 5-2 success away at Broadway United Youth.


Under 12's B

Welland Junior Lions kept up their 100% record after a convincing win at Crowle.  Pershore Town deserve special mention after a surprise 3-2 win away at Eckington Eagles.


Under 11's A

Drakes Broughton Rangers remain undefeated after their latest 4-0 win over Lenches.


Under 11's B

Leaders Broadway United Youth were held 1-1 by 2nd placed Bidford Juniors.


Under 11's C

Droitwich Scorpions made it 4 wins from 4 after a superb display away at Evesham United Colts. The Scorpions' Evan Ward scored 6-goals, with Jack Barnett-Towler grabbing a brace in their 8-0 victory.


Under 10's West

Eckington Juniors & Eckington Eagles stay level at the top after their latest wins over Pershore Town & Badsey Rangers, respectfully.


Under 10's East

Alcester Town Juniors lead the table after a 3-1 home success over a spirited Ilmington United. At the lower end of the table, special mention goes to Morton Rangers and Broadway United Youth who produced an end to end game to see the points shared after a final score of 2-2.


Match Schedule Saturday 5th October:

Next week, our attention's go to the 1st Round Cup Fixtures, with some intriguing matches in prospect. A reminder to all teams and referees' to familiarise themselves with the Cup Rules of each age group competition.

Some age groups have an open date due to the cup schedule, so these teams may use the opportunity to organise a training session and assess their early season matches.
