RUGBY Lions, beaten finalists in last year’s RFU Junior Vase, will have home advantage in this season’s Midlands final of the competition.

Rugby, who were beaten by Longlevens at Twickenham Stadium last May, reached the regional final and the last eight nationally by beating Sileby Town 48-3.

They will now host either Cleobury Mortimer, a previous national runner-up, or Evesham in the Midlands final which will be played on either March 14 or 15.

Leicester club Vipers will stage the Midlands final of the RFU Senior Vase but they will have to wait until February 14 to discover who they will play.

Woodrush host Melton Mowbray in a delayed fifth round tie to determine who will meet Vipers in the regional final on March 14 or 15.

In the RFU Intermediate Cup the winners of the fifth round tie between Bridgnorth and Spartans will have home advantage against Northampton Old Scouts in the Midlands final on March 14 or 15.

Bridgnorth reached the Midlands final last season where their cup run ended with a defeat at Leek.

The national finals will be staged at Twickenham Stadium on May 3.
