Under 18s – Junior Colts

Banbury Under 18 Junior Colts were narrowly defeated 25-26 yesterday by a strong Amersham and Chiltern team at Bodicote Park. A depleted Banbury squad looked rusty from the outset, defensive errors and better tactical use of the conditions by the visitors led to Banbury's first league defeat of the season. Banbury's scorers were Tom Letch with 2 tries, a further try by Ed Yeates, two conversions and two penalties were added by Alex Caviezel Cox.

Under 17s

Banbury Under 17s lost their second league game of the season 17 - 32 to a strong Amersham and Chiltern side.  Banbury took an early home lead with a penalty from Sam Manning, but Chiltern showed their strength, scoring three tries, before Harry Graham brought Banbury back into the game with a try.  Banbury started strongly in the second half and Rhy Andrews scored to put Banbury in the lead, but as the match drew to a close Chiltern showed their ability to score two late tries to secure victory.

Under 16s

Banbury Under 16s travelled to Bicester on Sunday and notched up their biggest win of the season so far 66-0. Luca Catania added two conversions and Jack Taylor the final 2 points.

Under 14s

Banbury Under 14s travelled away to Kenilworth on Sunday and came away with 34-31 win. Dominating the first half, Banbury were ahead by 15 at the break, determined and fresh legged opposition closing the gap with three excellent tries. Never on the back foot, Banbury secured victory by just hanging on, the last Banbury of try of the match by a charging Jay Manley (2 tries) ensuring the final score was in the visitors  favour. The score sheet was opened by Jamie Wood, Archie Mallock getting the conversion having scored two tries himself.

Under 13s

Banbury Under 13s had a successful day at the Oxfordshire XV Festival held at Henley Rugby Club on Sunday. This is a not-for-prizes festival to introduce the teams to 15-a-side rugby. Banbury’s A team had comfortable wins over Oxford by 24-0 and Wallingford by 32-5.
