MALVERN and Newark, who were each given a bye to the Midlands semi-finals of the National Under 17 Cup, will face each other for a place in the regional final later this month.

Malvern will have home advantage for the Midlands semi-final on March 15 with the winners progressing to the regional Finals Day, the national quarter-finals, at Broadstreet on March 29.

Oakham, who beat Sutton Coldfield in their quarter-final, will host Nottingham Corsairs in the other Midlands semi-final of the National Under 17 Cup.

Wolverhampton, who won the National Under 17 Cup last season, are through to the Midlands semi-finals of this season’s National Under 17 Bowl.

Wolverhampton beat Ledbury 26-5 in last weekend’s Midlands quarter-finals and now face a trip to Bromsgrove in the regional semi-finals.

National Under 17 Cup

Midlands quarter-finals: Oakham 14 Sutton Coldfield 12, Nottingham Corsairs 19 Ampthill 17. Byes: Newark, Malvern.

Midlands semi-finals: Oakham v Nottingham Corsairs, Malvern v Newark. Ties to be played on March 15.

National Under 17 Plate

Midlands quarter-finals: Nottingham Moderns 0 Kidderminster Carolians 22, Oundle 19 Syston 33, Church Stretton 26 Burton 3. Bye: Paviors.

Midlands semi-finals: Kidderminster Carolians v Paviors, Syston v Church Stretton. Ties to be played on March 15.

National Under 17 Bowl

Midlands quarter-finals: Wolverhampton 26 Ledbury 5, Old Northamptonians w/o v Oadby Wyggestonians, Market Bosworth 29 Lincoln 17. Bye: Bromsgrove.

Midlands semi-finals:Market Bosworth v Old Northamptonians, Bromsgrove v Wolverhampton. Ties to be played on March 15.

National Under 17 Shield

Midlands quarter-finals: Moseley w/o v Hinckley, Byes: Kettering, Derby, Old Halesonians.

Midlands semi-finals: Moseley v Kettering, Old Halesonians v Derby. Ties to be played on March 15.
