An excellent display of rugby from Old Hales Colts made it four wins from four League matches to keep them at the top of the League Table.

After heavy rain overnight the Colts were blessed by the sun for the afternoon, although with a strong breeze. As the match started, Old Hales were immediately on the offensive playing great rugby and keeping Worcester pinned back. After only three minutes Joel Keenan had scored the first try in the corner, followed by a great conversion against the wind, by Luke Fenton.

It continued in the same vain after the re-start with great rucking and fantastic pace in the backs, which saw Luke Fenton score to the side of the posts and then convert with seven minutes played.

The next ten minutes were similar with Worcester desperately defending, but eventually unable to prevent another try and conversion by Luke Fenton after 17 minutes, score 21-0.

After the restart Worcester found themselves in the Old Hales half for the first time and had a short period of pressure. A penalty was conceded on the 22 but Worcester missed their kick.

Worcester again had a short spell of possession, but solid defence by Old Hales lead to a turnover and our backs used pace and accurate passing to get the ball out to the left for a further try by Keenan.

Hales Colts resumed their dominance and further tries were scored by James Griffiths, Jack Elliot and Adam Babb. Three of the four were converted by Luke Fenton to take the score to 47-0, at half-time.

Unfuntunately due to another injury for the Worcester Colts they were forced to concede the match. Final Score Old Hales Colts 50 – 0 Worcester Colts. Coach Gary Hardeman said “An outstanding performance from everyone today. We need to ensure we keep this momentum going for the big Halloween showdown with Sutton.”
