Old Leamingtonians RFC will begin their campaign for success in a new league following the club’s promotion at the end of last season this Saturday when they welcome Melbourne to the Crofts for a warm-up match.

Now sitting in Midlands 2 West (south) Old Leamingtonians will face oppositions such as Earlsdon, Droitwich, Dunlop, Banbury and local rivals Leamington RFC this season.

This weekend’s trial game will test out the squad’s progress following an intensive preseason training schedule consisting of 3 sessions per week.

Lead to promotion by Captain Jason Healey last season the Old Leamingtonians senior men’s team will be looking to demonstrate why they deserve their place in Midlands 2 West(south). “We have worked very hard since the close of last season to work on our fitness, strength and conditioning to ensure we are in peak physical condition for the start of the season. We’ve also seen some new players join us and we’re very excited about the season ahead” said Jason.

The game will kick off at 3pm on Saturday Old Leamingtonians, follow the club news online at www.olrfc.co.uk , Twitter @olrfc & on Facebook ‘Old Leamingtonians’.
