Following Pershore RFC’s very popular Rugby Fun Day last week, the club fielded three under sevens Minis tag rugby teams on Sunday 6 October, to give Malvern RFC Minis some keen opposition at Pershore’s grounds at Wyre Piddle.

Each under sevens team of four players had four competitive games, played on one of three pitches and, with Pershore’s captaincy rotating, they won at least 2 out of 4 games.

Ben Andrews, Chair of Pershore RFC’s Junior section said: “Malvern were a well organised and challenging opposition, but all three Pershore teams more than matched them and rose to the challenge, for some well balanced games.”

“Pershore under 7s deserve praise and credit for some closely fought games with some excellent runs and great tags.  Our Under 14s played very well , too at Upton, with all players showing great potential at this early stage in the season.  We look forward to helping them develop as the season  continues.  Well done to all concerned!”

All Pershore mini teams will be looking forward to their next set of games away in Upton in 2 weeks time, whilst it’s the turn of the Under 8 and Under 9 teams this coming weekend, as they entertain Tewkesbury RFC at their riverside ground in Wyre Piddle.
