Changing the time of year from September to July seems to have paid off, as a record number of over 80 runners from 14 Parishes took part in the Parish Games Cross Country event at Pershore High School on Monday 21st July. 
Sponsored by Run Stuff, many more Parishes than usual were able to field a full team of six runners. 
After all the scores had been added up, Eckington emerged as victors with 118 points, well ahead of Bretforton with 163 points.  Fladbury, winners for the last few years, were third with 171, closely followed by Crowle with 179 and Broadway with 191. 
Little Comberton, Badsey, Pinvin, Wyre Piddle, Hill & Moor, Drakes Broughton,  Inkberrow and Wick also took part.  Offenham also took part for the first time. 
The next one-day event is the Bowls, sponsored by Pershore Bowls Centre, is the next one-day event, and this takes place at Bredon Bowling Club on Sunday 24th August. 
The knock-out events will also be starting in August."
