Leamimgton seconds remain in a relegation dog-fight following defeat at Barnt Green on Saturday.

Batting first on a placid wicket, Leamington made a good start through Jack Bewick and Ollie Currill. The wheels came off however when Bewick was LBW to James East for 15, quickly followed by ducks for Billy Hallett and Simon Magill. Leamington consolidated through Currill and Manpreet Gill. Currill dropped anchor making a patient 67, whilst Gill was more adventurous making a fine undefeated 87. Leamington finiished on 204 -6, a total which looked below-par. For Green East took 3 for 27 amd Ravi Nagra 3 for 39.
Leamington made early inroads into Green's reply, but the home side always seemed in control. Tom Brown was the lynch-pin of the innings, making an undefeated 94, as Green cantered to a 5 wicket win, reaching 205 - 5 in the 44th over. Leamington's bowling was persistent but not penetrating, with four bowlers sharing the wickets.
Leamington need to return to winning ways over the Bank Holiday weekend to ensure they are not dragged into the bottom two positions.
