This very substantial win does not portray the game, which was a close fought battle all the way through. The difference being, that Kenilworth took their chances when they came along and were awesome in defence not conceding any tries. Whereas, Barkers just could not turn their possession into points and missed many crucial tackles.

Tries- Olly Jones 4, Ben Green 2, Alex Gyetvai 1

Penalties Harvey Joy 1

Conversions-Harvey Joy 5

Right from the kick off Barkers infringed at the first ruck and Kenilworth kicked for the corner. The resulting maul rumbled forward and the a long pass reached Alex in the centre, who beat his man to go under the posts. Conversion went over. 7 Nil. 2 mins

The next kick off was a mess and a scrum was conceded to Barkers, who played up beyond the 22 and were awarded a penalty for 'hands in the ruck'. This was converted. 7-3. 4 mins

Kenilworth did much better with the next kick off and through many phases of play reached the Barkers 22 where a penalty was awarded. Harvey kicked this one. 13-3 Kenilworth. 7 mins

For the next 15 mins Kenilworth did nothing but defend their line against Barkers. After each clearance, Barkers came back and a score looked inevitable. At 22 mins Barkers knocked on, in front of the posts and the Kens playing advantage passed the ball out swiftly to the wing, who broke down the pitch and kicked before contact. The chase was then on and Olly Jones won it, running the rest of the way to score in the corner beating the chasing man. 15-3. The conversion looked unlikely against the wind, but Harvey got it. 17-3.

Barkers, from the kick off put Kenilworth under pressure again, only to knock on again from a long pass. The ball was played almost the length of the field by Kenilworth, before the attack was brought to a halt on the 5 yard line. Barkers knocked on again and Kenilworth played from the back of the scrum through 2 phases. Ben Green went over to score before Half Time. 22-3. Harvey kicked the points 24-3 at half Time.

After ½ time Barkers came back with a new determination. For 18 mins Kenilworth were pinned in their own half and were unable to clear far enough down the pitch to give any respite. On one occasion, a ball from a Kenilworth ruck was passed back behind the try line to Harvey to clear. He slipped and almost gave the ball away, but then jumped up and ran sideways and up through the posts out to the wing where he found Olly Jones outside him who made a stunning break the length of the pitch to score under the posts. 29-3. 2 Points to Harv 31-3.

Kenilworth were now beginning to get on top of Barkers, which sounds odd 28 points up, but probably Barkers had by far the most possession in the game. Also clever box kicking and clearance kicks using the wind started to gain Kenilworth ground and territory, which to that point they had not had. From the kick off, one such clearance kick  reached the Barkers 22. The line out was stolen and Olly Jones went over for his Hat Trick. Harvey kicked the conversion. 38-3. 20mins.

Kenilworth were by now right on top as Barkers faded in the last 15 mins. Great passing play by the Kens saw them score 2 more in the last 5 mins by Ben Green and again Olly Jones to make the final score 48-3.
