Rowington made the short journey to Tanworth in Arden and having lost the toss were asked to bat, Alex Smith and Joe Turrell took to the crease and soon found their stride punishing the bad balls with numerous two's, the out field being long enough to slow the ball before the boundary.
Mohammed and Turnbull were struggling with the constant runs and so Raza was brought on and he was sharp enough to entice Smith into going for the boundary only for him to miss the ball and get bowled for 24 and the R's are 74 - 1.
Skipper Scott Rogers makes his way to the crease and helps Turrell pass the fifty mark and move the score to 88 when Turrell goes caught off Barber for 55,
Tommy Williams comes to the crease fresh from last weeks big score and soon gets off the mark but Raza soon cuts him short getting an LBW decision and Williams is on his way for a single and the R's are now 93 - 3.
Eike Gilbert joins Rogers but a single later Rogers (6) is back in the pavilion as Barber bowls one to him and as Rogers hits it back the outstretched arm of Barber somehow holds on to the ball and Rowington are 94 - 4.
It then becomes the Raza show as first Gilbert then Jefferson both go for ducks and then Skillings and Kelly put on 8 when Skillings goes again to  Raza for another Rowington duck and Raza has a five for! 102 - 7.
The R's are in trouble with Joe Kelly and Matt Williams at the crease, Turnbull comes back on and a short ball to Kelly is dispatched straight to a fielder and he has gone for 7,
now it's 105 - 8.
Andy Shaw joins Williams and despite advising him to play straight Williams sweeps across the line to Raza and he's bowled for 3 its now 108 - 9 and the Tanners want the bonus points for an all out for less than 120 and the only person between them and that is their old foe, Steve Jay.
Jay and Shaw have been here before and they marshal the ball around, showing little respect to Raza and they soon pass the 120 and with 39 overs gone they are looking to bat out the overs and give the R's a chance, another couple from Jay sees the score move to 123 when Shaw cuts one to point off Turnbull and the R's are all out for 123 with the Tanners getting 5 extra overs to reach their target.
Jay running out of partners on 13!!
Raza ended with 6 - 19
Turnbull 2 - 8
Barber 2 - 26
From a promising start the Rowingotn batsmen made hard work of some pretty ordinary bowling and 123 was some 50 short of a decent target.
After tea Rowington's openers Steve Jay and Matt Williams kept it tight and were unlucky not to get a breakthrough but with wickets needed Rogers rotated his bowlers trying to get the wickets, the Tanners were not scoring quickly and when Andy Shaw eventually bowls C Barber (25) the score is on 68 off 25 overs.
The R's kept up the tight lines but were struggling for wickets and with 5 extra overs to bowl it was wickets not maidens that were needed, Hopkins then passes his 50 and  in the 40th over Joe Turrell manages to bowl Carey (19) to get the R's a point but the score is on 118 and the Tanners need 6 to win.
They cruise to 122 and if they think about it they can get a bonus point if they hit a boundary, unfortunately for them they don't and just take a couple to win the game - that point could prove vital at the end of the season as the Tanners only avoided relegation by a point last year, it pays to be aware!
Jay ended    7    3    16    0
Williams       6    3    13    0
Rogers         8    1    13    0
Turrell           5    0    20    1
Shaw            8    2    26    1
Gilbert          5    0    19    0
Kelly             3    0    12    0
Some tidy bowling but poor batting saw Rowington continue their Tanworth hoodoo and capitulate, another 40 runs would have more than likely given them victory, hopefully lessons will be learnt for next weeks visit of Wnchcombe.
