Midweek and overnight rain in the Bromsgrove area, along with a reduced fixture list due to the festive period, resulted in only 5 games taking place on Sunday 22nd December.

Congratulations go to FC Rednal who reached their first ever semi-final, as they powered into the Bridgwater Semis with a 10-2 win over Longbridge Athletic in a game 'reversed' to Boleyn Road after Rubery Park was horrendously churned up last weekend. Lee Davies and Chris Gee with hat-tricks setting the way, indeed in Davies's case he is turning into a Sunday League Suarez with 25 goals in the last 8 outfield games, with one each for Timothy Toon, Aaron Phillips, Ashley Drake and Lee Farrell. Phillips was also influential with 5 assists! Longbridge's goals came from Chris Jones and their own goalscoring machine Shane Heath. FCR have now set up a very tasty tie with AFC Millfields in the semi-final and the tin hats will probably be needed for this one, both sides will be extremely motivated to win!

In League action, no games in the Prem so it's onto Division 1, where Hare and Hounds made it 10 wins in the league as they showed no mercy to Sporting Grapevine at xmas time with an 11-1 win at Charford International. Earlswood's Luke Dugmore led the way with 5 goals, Studley's Andy Nicol chipped in with 3, whilst Hickey Junior, Adam Pillinger and Scott Gaffney completed the scoring. Can anyone stop Hare and Hounds? They show no signs of relenting their sensational form and they could well end 2013 as the only unbeaten team in the whole of the league, although Rubery Athletic their nearest league rivals will be determined to be party poopers when the sides meet next Sunday at Studley 3G.

In Division 2, Victoria Barnt Green Reserves had to come from a goal down to see off Callowbrook Swifts 4-1, 4 seperate scorers for Vic namely Nick Hobbis, Chris Thurbon, Paul Badger and Richard Bishop. Vic stay in third place. Meanwhile performance of the day probably goes to Hewell Grangers who picked up their first win of the season with a surprise 3-2 victory over Lickey End Social who have now lost two successive games on the spin. Anton Dimarimo was the Hewell hero as he hit a hat-trick, whilst Jamie Gardner's brace was in vain for Lickey End. A cracking result for the prison team and they'll certainly be happy chappies tucking into their turkey as a result.

One team who won't be as happy will be Toby Jug who were surprisingly held at home to a 3-3 draw by bottom side Coldfield, this in Division 3 and thus blowing their 100% winning league start. Connor Collins's hat-trick for Jug proving in vain as Matt Hale, Kyle Hindley and Tim Lees struck to grab a point which bust many a coupon, especially with Coldfield being 3-1 down. Jug's day was perhaps compounded by JJ Evans who is normally lethal with penalties, missing his spot kick as stand in goalkeeper Martin Faulkner made a stunning save. Good sportsmanship from Jug too, as they were quick to recognise the effort and organisation shown by Coldfield who could easily have folded like the proverbial pack of cards. A vital point for Coldfield lifts them level with Red Lions on points but still bottom on goal difference.

Merry Xmas to all our readers and we'll be back next Sunday with all the action from Week 21. A reduced fixture list again but a couple of interesting games in store for you to enjoy if the rain stays away.
