Following on from a successful 2015 season in the Britcar Endurance Series, Team BRIT will now move into the arena of international endurance racing, as they will compete in the Hankook 24 Hours of Silverstone this coming April (1st – 3rd).
The event is a part of the newly-created Touring Car Endurance Series (powered by Hankook), by Dutch series organiser Creventic, which will see the Berkshire-based race outfit compete at the famed Northamptonshire circuit in the A3 Class.
This is the next logical step in the team’s progress towards their goal of racing at the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans, and will provide a new challenge for 2016.
“This is where we want to be competing – in proper team endurance racing,” explained Founder and Team Principal, Dave Player. “These races are so demanding, physically and mentally, so the whole team needs to dig deep and pull together.”
Team BRIT is looking forward to taking on the challenge of their 24-hour race on home soil, with the welcome support of Slide Sports to ensure of a competitive first outing.
“We’ve competed in many 24 hour kart races, so it’s going to be a luxury, competing at Silverstone,” said Player. “We’re aiming for a good result. It’s going to be a real challenge, as there are 20 teams competing in our class. But that’s what we are here for – to take on challenges.”
