Rowington v Winchcombe

Rowington arrived at an overcast Winchcombe after a lengthy drive through the countryside. Skipper Sam Turrell won the toss and elected to bowl first trusting in his sides ability to chase a total on a small ground. Jay took the first over down the hill with the wind in his luscious locks, but it was Young Sam Lange that got the the first wicket, danger man Chattell caught by Williams. Wardlaw soon followed chopping onto his stumps to Lange with the score at 12. A partnership was made between jones and roscoe but the Wiley Jay soon had them both lbw and caught by J Turrell the later. Shaw snapped up the next 3; stumped, caught and bowled. Another good day for a regular performer. J Turrell got major to to dolly one up to Williams who made no mistake with the score advanced to 207. However it needed the returning skipper Sam Turrell to take the last two wickets with the first two balls of his second spell, Winchcombe finishing on 232. A total a little shy of par.
In reply A Smith and S Turrell opened the batting plundering boundaries to go into drinks unbeaten on 115. However a lack of concentration saw Turrell fall the first ball after drinks for 65 bowled by Von Seckendoff (saw that after a few pints) the joining Williams swiftly added 57 in classy fashion while steadfast Smith ticked over. The partnership broken on 193 by Meikle, Williams departing. Turrell and Jefferson looked to finish it quickly but both fell for 8 a piece. It took a concentrated Smith and a plucky Redwood to guide the R's to 233.

Bit of an attempt. Had to blag the fall of Winchcombe wickets as it hadn't been recorded.
