Droitwich RFC played their part in their scrappiest game of the season against bottom of the league Old Leamingtonians.
Despite this spa did salvage a win 13-7. However this was a very disappointing game where spa just couldn't get any momentum going with so many errors occurring during the game.
Credit to the visitors who fought for every ball, they needed to win this to have any chance of staying up and gave everything to their cause.
Spa took the lead with the last kick of the first half thanks to Bobby Scott-Walker.
The second half started and spa had the wind against their backs and made good use of that with great powerful runs from Ross Midgeley and skipper James Shewell, this was followed by a line break from Mark Strutt and the visitors were penalised, allowing Scott-Walker to kick a penalty over from the touch line.
A lapse in concentration from midfield allowed the visitors to score a runaway try and take the lead in the game with a converted try.
Spa now used the wind to their advantage and after some nifty footwork in midfield by Glenn topping this allowed Tom Wormington to crash over under the posts and put spa ahead.
The visitors now threw everything at spa but awesome defence by every single player kept them at bay and ensured spa of their own survival in the league.
Spa know they have to up their own game a point echoed by a disgruntled skipper James Shewell.
He added that now spa can start building for next year.
