Sunday saw a very light changeable breeze for the sailors at Arden Sailing Club (near Defford).

With 8 keen helms taking to the water for the 4th race in the Arden Trophy and a short optimistic 4 lap course set, the boats were set off in 2 flights of 4.  This was to try and help get them a bit of extra wind and speed. In the 1st flight was an Enterprise sailed single-handed, a Heron and 2 Comets.

All had a clean getaway but they remained bunched up in the 1st half of the starting lap.  Meanwhile 5 minutes behind set off 4 remaining Comets.  All were making reasonable ground on the 1st flight, however, Robin Evans and Malcolm College shortly after both retired finding the conditions more and more challenging.

Five minutes later Tricia Wood retired as the wind conditions dropped even more.  After 40 minutes the lead boats had only completed 2 laps and the race was shortened to 2 and a half laps.  Going around the final buoy Angie Graham in the lead Comet struggled and practiced her backwards sailing skills and eventually brought the boat home in last place.  Keith Stevens who was the only remaining sailor from the 2nd flight had a good 2nd lap and overtook everyone on the water except the Enterprise to finish 2nd on the water, but won the race on handicap.

The rest of the results were Keith Stevens (Comet) 1st , David Bryden (Heron) 2nd, Stuart Stephen (Enterprise) 3rd, Terry Andrews (Comet) 4th and Angie Graham (Comet) 5th.
