Pershore entertained Stourbridge Lions in the quarter final of the North Mids Shield on Saturday afternoon.

A game in which the visitors, who are in the league above Pershore, ran out worthy winners.
The Lions brought a level of physicality that Pershore have not been used to and some of the hits that went in by both teams were huge.

The big Pershore ball carriers were often stopped on the gain line but that did not stop Hope, Bassett & Martin putting in some big tackles of their own and making some impressive in roads in to the defence.

The main difference between the teams were The Lions ability to take advantage of defensive holes regardless of where they were on the pitch, with three of their 6 tries coming from breaks in their own half. Pershore did get on the score sheet either side of half time with tries by Holmes & Ellis and had plenty of other opportunities which were thwarted by the stingy Stour defence.
The 38-14 victory for The Lions has booked them a place in the semi final. Pershore must now concentrate on league rugby again next week when the visit Old Yardleians, 3pm kick off
